Frequently Asked Questions
- How can an allergy test help me?
- If you have been suffering from painful or uncomfortable symptoms that persist despite medical intervention then this test may at last be able to answer why.
- Do I need a letter from my GP?
- A doctor's letter is not necessary, but it is important to remember that this test is complimentary to and is not a medical diagnosis. It is always advisable to have worrying symptoms checked by a medical practitioner before consultation.
- Is the test painful?
- The test is absolutely painless and totally safe. It will not adversely affect you if you are epileptic or have a pacemaker fitted.
- I have had my symptoms for many years, can the test still help?
- It is irrelevant how long symptoms have been present. However, it may take the body a little more time to heal if the symptoms have been long-standing.
- I am pregnant, can I be tested?
- Yes, but pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are advised not to take any remedies or supplements until after the birth and weaning has concluded.
- So what can the test do for me then?
- Symptoms can, in many cases, be relieved by simply avoiding trigger foods, artificial additives and chemicals etc. until a time when the underlying cause can be treated.
- If I am taking medication will it affect the test results?
- No, and it is always important to continue with prescribed medication.
- There is a particular substance I have been in contact with that I think may be the cause of my allergy, can you test it?
- Yes, the machine can test ANY substance peripherally in addition to the more than 1000 pre-programmed substances in the machine, so you can bring whatever you wish for testing.
- Is one test enough?
- A second test is essential in the majority cases to monitor progress, check for elimination of toxins and retest foods, allergens and discuss maintenance etc.
- Will I be cured of my allergy?
- It depends on the cause of the allergy. If it is caused by a treatable toxin, then there is a good chance that symptoms will clear up altogether. If there is a family history or a deeper cause then knowing how to avoid the triggers can greatly help ease symptoms and help prevent further attacks.
- How can I keep in good health once I start to feel better?
- Advice on maintenance will be provided during the second test.
- How long does it take?
- The first test takes approximately one and three quarter hours and the second test may be of similar duration.
- How much does it cost?
- The first test is €90 and the second test is €70.
